We work within a partnership between Te Aho Tū Roa (Toimata) and Ōnuku Trust, with whom we have been organising, running, and supporting wānanga and papamahi in the kai space within Te Taitokerau and abroad.
We will also be able to support rōpū, kura, or kōhanga who have a need for mātauranga and tupu to begin their own food systems for resilience.
Our kāinga aims at being a living example of the kaupapa – sustainable and closed-loop systems of living that are good for both tangata and taiao; providing an opportunity to inspire innovation, to reinforce connectedness, to practice sovereignty, to localise food systems, and validate sustainable and resilient approaches to living.
“The kaupapa of our whenua is to live as sustainably as possible, while continuing to
be a living, thriving, and constantly evolving example for others who are wanting to do the same.”
